Oh man, I really don't want to part with these! They're so beautiful. Made from vinyl records and assorted shells/glassbeads/random plastic junk...they make pretty clinky noises in the wind :)

.going.slightly.mad.
Ten days to go until the Strawberry Fair. GAH! Ten flipping days! And five zillion things to do before then. But it's all coming along nicely though...just gotta get on down and do it! But here's some photos of what I've been doing...
I made 37 record bowls on sunday night, here's a few of them posing on my half-made earring display
Been making more jewellery too...
And finally, a yarn-y pen and a black swan... oh yeah, I've got circus skills.

Excitingness
So I got some exciting news this week, I have a jewellery stand at Greenbelt! Yay!! The letter said they'd turned loads of people away so I am super-chuffed! Greenbelt is a christian music and arts festival which is held at Cheltenham race course over the August bank holiday weekend. It's big, and exactly the kind of place where my hippy, eco-friendly jewellery will fit right in! I've also been cracking ahead with Strawberry Fair plans, as it's in two weeks! Eeeek! But it will be great, I can't wait to get Astareal out there.
Today I started my earring display - this involves cutting out really thick pieces of card, covering them all in paper, sticking the pieces together with masking tape, lots of layers of paper-mahce, and then lots of varnish. So I'm going to be covered in PVA glue for the foreseeable future! Heehee.
I went into Coventry yesterday and went to the awesome knitting shop, where I stroked all the Rowan yarns and told them I loved them, and then bought this massive ball of Marble Chunky. 200g, 312m, 100% acrylic but soo soft, and in a beautiful blue/purple/green colourway. I'm planning on making the Fat-Bottomed bag from the Happy Hooker with it, so I shall post pictures when I'm done. Here's the ball with my mobile for scale! It's massive...
I also got an order for some custom dreads yesterday which was ace, black ones to be Jack Sparrow in...they're going to be made soon and sent off to America next week!
So yeah, very busy here! I've made lots of pretty jewellery too but that'll have to wait until my desk is glue-free before I can take photos! :) Have a happy sunday, Ses

Flu And Crochet
So I went to the doctor today who told me I have flu again... not happy. But I did get a chance to make use of this wonderful, wonderful tutorial here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=127333.0
And make some cute Mary-Jane slippers!! They didn't take twenty minutes, more like three hours, but I couldn't sleep so it passed the time!!
Pictures! Please excuse my messy stitching, big feet and Homer socks... haha!!
Specs: Sirdar Denim Ultra yarn in Madder Pink and Pink Sorbet and an 8mm hook. I reckon it was about a skein in total. Easy peasy, and now I have warm toes!! :)

Craft Show Prepping
So with several craft fairs/festivals coming up I've been thinking (stressing!) about displays and stuff... but I think I'm getting there!
Here's a sketch of the earring display I have in mind... you can *totally* tell how I have an A Level in art can't you?! Haha
Failing this, I'm going to have to use the photo frame method - imagine this with a ribbon stretched across it and earrings hanging from the ribbon
Or the bent-out-of-shape vinyl record display
If I use these I'll have the rest of the earrings in a record bowl in front of the earrings on display, though I'd prefer to make my 'amazing' drawing reality!
I also started on my banner last night ... it still needs a lot of work though!
Oh, and for anyone who likes yarn - here's some yarn porn for you....I may have to do some hardcore scumbling with this!
*sigh*, exciting life - I also made some gift boxes today... margh!

Just Another Lazy Day Afternoon
It's actually pretty hard to type this right now, my desk is so covered in beads and things...maybe I should tidy up.
I finished two felted necklaces today and made the beads for two more.
I also got my recycled plastic beads ready to be strung up into necklaces and bracelets and other such pretty things - now I've just got to decide on a focal bead to brighten them up a bit...
I use my garden as a model...
And if anyone has ideas on what else I can recycle into jewellery, let me know!! :)

T Minus One Month
So, what with a completely mental weekend I didn't get much done for the Strawberry Fair, however I manage to make a list... Lists are great. It's made everything look much more achievable which is nice...but now I have to stop faffing around and get on and do it.
I started on the glass necklaces today - using a random selection of beads in blues, greens, pinks etc to make chunky, sparkly creations... here's a blue one, unfortunately the sparkle didn't quite come across in the photo but it's beautiful!
I've also been playing around with the felted beads I made for my 'Eco Chic' line - making them into long necklaces and cute, fluffy earrings... I'm really pleased with how they're coming out...and I have four more colours of roving arriving in the post soon!
And finally, here's some cute earrings I made... the fimo hearts don't really fit in with anything else but they were too pretty not to turn into something.
Exactly one month until the Strawberry Fair... eeeK!
